Choosing a CRM: Salesforce, Copper (formerly Prosperworks), or Sugar?

by Denise Hazime on May 18, 2017

There are many customer relationship management (CRM) solutions available on the market, and it can be hard to select between them. If you are looking for a CRM for your business, there are two things you need to take into account: the size of your business, and the amount of customers you are dealing with.

If you run a small business or a medium-sized business with an average number of clients, you don’t need the features - and expense - of an enterprise-sized solution.

If, however, you have a small business with a high number of customers (for example, an e-commerce store selling low-priced items to thousands of clients), you may want to consider a larger solution that can handle this volume. We’ll take you through the different solutions we’ve settled on here at UpCurve Cloud, and how each can benefit your business.

Wait, Why Does My Business Need CRM?

Put bluntly, all businesses need a CRM solution. Even the smallest business needs to manage clients and incoming leads. If you are doing any volume of business, you can’t expect your staff to keep every little detail about each client in their heads. And with proper integration to the other software solutions your business uses, it is easy for your staff to log calls, look up client records, and much more.

Small & Medium - Sized Businesses: Prosperworks and Sugar

If you have a small to medium-sized business with client lists in the hundreds, a CRM solution such as Prosperworks or Sugar is the ideal solution. Both are very simple to use and don’t require a large learning curve.

Prosperworks

Prosperworks was purpose-built to integrate with G Suite. If your organization uses G Suite on a regular basis, it is probably the best solution.

Sugar CRM

Sugar is an excellent CRM for businesses with more requirements than a basic CRM like Prosperworks can handle, without the cost of upgrading to an enterprise-level solution such as Salesforce. Sugar is best suited to medium-sized businesses or small businesses with a larger than usual client base. It is also the ideal solution if you have a small to medium-sized business that does not use G Suite.

Enterprise-Level & High Volume Businesses: Salesforce

Businesses tend to move to Salesforce when they outgrow other CRM solutions. Salesforce is the solution that most people think of when they hear “CRM”. If you are responsible for a large company’s IT or sales technology needs, it is worth considering. While Salesforce is just as well-known for its high costs, these come with a provable ROI - especially when managing a large client base. It integrates with nearly every other software solution and offers the most features of any other CRM solution.

While you are considering a CRM, another helpful addition to the management toolkit is Prodoscore. Prodoscore allows you to monitor remote - and all - employee activity which takes place in G Suite. Prodoscore will also monitor any activity in most CRM solutions, including Salesforce.
