Gmail On iOS Updated with Better Google Drive Integration

by Koosha Araghi on July 24, 2014

Integration between Gmail and Google Drive on mobile is now on par with the web. Last year, Google included the addition of a Drive icon to its new Gmail compose experience. The icon provides users the ability to quickly select and attach any document or folder from within Drive. Additionally, should the file not have been previously shared with recipients, an automatic prompt will show from within Gmail where users can select whether they would like to provide them with view access or editing rights.

Google released similar functionality for the Gmail app on Android devices a few months ago and has now taken that to its iOS variants. Just like the web version of Gmail, you can now quickly select files from your drive and attach them on the go. You will also be notified if recipients have not already been granted view or edit rights.
