Google Contacts Updated with Starred Favorites

by Koosha Araghi on January 15, 2014

Google Contacts received a much needed update this month with the introduction of favorites. Similar to the way emails are managed, you can now quickly select the star icon next to an important contact and have it automatically placed in the “Starred” group. While the ability to organize contacts into custom groups has always existed, the stars provide a much better visual cue Gmail users are already familiar with. It may be helpful to take a look at the "Most Contacted" group to assess which contacts are used frequently when creating your favorites list.

For those of you on Android devices, the starred contacts will also sync and display within your Android Favorites list. Your mobile device can be used to manage your starred contacts and will automatically sync over to the web or desktop clients.
