Hangouts Now Available For Microsoft Outlook

by Koosha Araghi on May 19, 2014

Diehard Outlook users that don’t want to use Google’s web interface but still want to join in on Hangouts, this latest update is for you. This week, Google released a Hangouts extension for Outlook that allows users to schedule calls directly from the Outlook interface.

Hangouts have grown to be a serious tool for business to communicate and collaborate together. Just last month, Google announced that Hangouts were to be automatically integrated into all calendar events, providing a simple link to click on should your next even require a remote session.

Google’s push for Hangouts also came with the addition of Chromebox for meetings. The chromebox is a cost effective mini computer running the Chrome OS that organizations can purchase to quickly turn that tv in their conference room into a powerful video conferencing solution.

The hangouts extension for Office ensures that users can take advantage of quickly adding hangouts to any calendar events created in Outlook. Unfortunately chats will not work outside of the web interface. For more info on the new extension, check out the links below.
