SugarCRM End-of-Life Announcements
End-of-Life is the time at which a software company terminates support and maintenance of a version of their product. For organizations using Sugar, there are many end-of-life dates coming up in 2017. Keep reading to learn more about recent SugarCRM end-of-life announcements and what they mean for your organization.
Here are the end-of-life dates in 2017 that have been announced up to this point:

What End-of-Life Means
End-of-life means that the specific version of Sugar will no longer be supported or maintained by SugarCRM. Once the end-of-life date passes, you can no longer call Sugar support to request help, and Sugar will no longer release bug fixes or perform security maintenance on your instance.
Your system will not “shut off” on the end-of-life date. You can continue to use and access your system, but it is never recommended that you stay on a system that is no longer supported by SugarCRM. Although UpCurve Cloud will do everything we can to help you when it comes to bugs in the product, there is little we can do once Sugar is no longer supporting the version.
What You Should Do Next
UpCurve Cloud recommends that you start discussing an upgrade at least six months before end-of-life. This gives you and your vendor plenty of time to prepare for the upgrade and changes that come with it. If your system has any customizations at all, your upgrade becomes more complex, as those customizations can break when an upgrade occurs.
Reach out to UpCurve Cloud or your Sugar partner to begin the process of your upgrade. It's never recommended you attempt an upgrade on your own because if anything breaks in your system it’s good to have an engineering team on standby to help you fix it quickly. There are other things to think about when doing upgrades--including internal announcements, user training if the upgrade brings significant changes, and any layout changes you would like to do at the same time as the upgrade.
